The role of the Secretary is to control the GTA’s administrative procedures. The GTA Secretary is directly responsible to the President and is the main link between the Committee and the GTA members (players, coaches and officials).


  • To be the first point of contact for GTA members
  • Have a sound knowledge of the GTA’s constitution, policies and maintain all files/documentation (other than the financial records which shall be held by the treasurer)
  • Undertake general duties and administrative tasks as directed by the President
  • Read, reply and file all correspondence to GTa; disseminate to the committee and members as appropriate
  • Make arrangements for the meetings including date, venue and times
  • Send adequate notice of upcoming meetings and collate all relevant documents/information from office bearers
  • Call and receive nominations for committee and subcommittee positions from members
  • Attend committee meetings, record and send out Minutes to membership body
  • In the absence of the President, Chair said meetings and represent the GTA when required
  • Manage the membership/sponsorship databases ensuring details are up to date, completed annually, and that all members fees are paid
  • Liaise with and support GTA Safeguarding Officer, as required
